Woman Calls in Bomb Threat to Lower Moreland Business
The following was reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department.

On Monday, June 11, the Lower Moreland Police Department received a call of a bomb threat at Alro Steel, 3024 Franks Road. The business reportedly received numerous calls from a woman who eventually threatened to bomb the business and kill the employees there.
The caller was reportedly an older woman with an unidentified accent who was unknown to any of the employees working at Alro Steel. The office manager handled the first string of calls, where the caller asked for “Letitia”.
It was learned that “Letitia” is the name of the general manager at another Alro Steel plant in York. When the person on the phone informed her that she would have to contact that office, the caller didn’t seem to understand or care and became angry. The person on the other end of the phone could barely understand her and told her she was unable to help her. According to the report, the woman called back a dozen times.

After receiving so many calls, the general manager of the Huntingdon Valley plant spoke with the disgruntled caller. He described her as having a thick, possibly an island-type accent. The caller asked to speak with the woman who she was previously speaking to, and when she was denied, the caller said “I’m gonna bomb your place.” The general manager told police that while speaking with her she threatened a second time to bomb the business.
The woman continued to call the company and employees advised 911 of the threats. Another employee handled a later call and asked her why she was so angry. The caller said, “Because the old lady hung up on me and because of that I am gonna kill you all.” She stated to expect a bomb and also said she likes blowing things up. When asked her name, she deflected the question and again said she’s going to blow the business up and she likes killing people.

Employees of Alro Steel evacuated the building before LMPD and the Huntingdon Valley Fire Company arrived. They were interviewed and it did not appear there was an actual bomb on site. Officers and the Fire Marshal conducted a check of the building and no bombs or suspected bombs were seen.
Police made contact with Letitia Knaub, of the York plant, and she reported that it seems coincidental that she recently learned her identity was stolen and used by someone in Dallas, Texas. Knaub also reported she received a phone message at her home on Friday, June 8, from a woman with a thick accent that may have been Indian or Asian. The woman stated to be calling regarding her ID theft.
