2-Alarm Fire Battled By 12 Lower Bucks Co. Companies

LOWER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —A townhome was destroyed after a vehicle caught fire in the garage on Monday night, fire officials said.

The Bensalem Volunteer Fire Department Station 65 said Ladder 65 was dispatched at 5:50 p.m. Monday to the 100 block of Platt Drive.

The fire chief reported heavy fire from the side of an end-of-the-row townhome.

Fire crews called for a second alarm and additional fire departments for assistance.

Reports of an EV car burning in the garage were false. Fire crews found the fire to be a hybrid vehicle burning with a fuel leak.

Crews contained the fire to the townhome.

The Lower Southampton Fire Department said they assisted the Feasterville Fire Company with a house fire off Old Street Road.

Crews worked hard to extinguish the fire before it spread to the house next to it.

Several companies from Lower Bucks County assisted in battling the blaze.
