Snow Emergency Declared In Lower Southampton Twp.
Police Chief John Krimmel Jr. said the snow emergency went into effect at 6 a.m. Monday in Lower Southampton Township.

LOWER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —The Lower Southampton Township Police Department has declared a snow emergency due to inclement weather on Monday.
Police Chief John Krimmel Jr. said the snow emergency went into effect at 6 a.m. and will last until 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
During the emergency, the police chief said it is unlawful at any time for residents to park a motor vehicle or to allow that vehicle to remain anywhere on any designated snow emergency route (any township street).

Failure to remove vehicles may result in fines and or towing of vehicles, the police chief said.
Police said vehicles need to be removed so township road crews and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation can effectively plow streets.

Police also said that a snow emergency does not mean residents can ride ATVs and snowmobiles on the street.
Police ask residents to clear any fire hydrants near their homes and help older neighbors with shoveling if possible.
