$200K Raised For Family Of Malvern Teacher Who Died After Childbirth

WARMINSTER, PA — Support is surging for the family of a beloved who died suddenly Monday, just days after she gave birth to her second son.

A GoFundMe Page has collected more than $200,000 to support the family of Jennifer Krasna, a Malvern elementary school teacher. Her husband, Jesse Krasna, is a well-known teacher and basketball coach in Warminster.

Jennifer Krasna is described as an "amazing mother, devoted wife, beloved daughter, passionate teacher, and an irreplaceable friend," according to a GoFundMe launched by her friend.

"Jennifer Krasna tragically lost her life just days after giving birth to her beautiful baby boy, Cade. Jenn also leaves behind a 2-year-old son, Ty, whose favorite person in the world was his mommy, along with her husband and best friend," said Brianna Plaxe of Limerick, who organized the Support the Krasna Family GoFundMe page.

"Amazing mother, devoted wife, beloved daughter, passionate teacher, and an irreplaceable friend are descriptions that hardly scratch the surface of the remarkable woman who was taken from us too soon," the page states.

Jennifer Krasna, 30, was a first-grade teacher at Charlestown Elementary School in Malvern and the family lived in Newtown, Action News reported.

The GoFundMe page said Jennifer made it her top priority to surround herself with a strong community of friends and family.

"She never let anyone question what they meant to her, and valued every second she spent with the people she loved. She cherished the beautiful life she and Jesse built. We are heartbroken, and our lives are forever changed without her here."

The news shocked and saddened the Bucks County community. Tributes and words of support from those among the school and basketball communities poured in on social media, including this message from Ed Salamon, Council Rock School Board Director:

Plaxe is seeking to raise enough funds to cover the cost of the funeral and other future expenses "so they can focus on healing during this painful time. We are thankful for any support you may be able to provide."

Plaxe posted Wednesday thanking supporters for the donations.

"Jesse is overwhelmed by the love, support, and generosity from his family, friends, and community. Thank you all so, so much," she said.

A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, Dec. 4, with a funeral to follow at Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Rd. in Levittown.

Nate Ross, the communications and marketing specialist for the Centennial School District, said Krasna is health and physical education teacher at the Willow Dale Elementary School.

According to the Pure Skills Hoops website, Jesse Krasna is the Boys Basketball Coach at Council Rock North High School. The 2010 Pennsbury High School graduate is also one of the winningest players in the history of Pennsbury basketball, posting a record of 93-25 throughout his four years, the website states in a profile of Krasna.
