Caretaker Charged With Leaving Mentally Challenged Man Alone In Chesco
Bangalee Sarnor of Havertown is in Chester County Prison on a charge of abuse of care of a dependent person.
EAST GOSHEN, PA —A 38-year-old Havertown man was arrested Sunday on charges of leaving a mentally handicapped man he was taking care of alone Sunday night in the 1600 block of Margo Lane, East Goshen Township.
Bangalee Sarnor is in Chester County Prison in lieu of $10,000 Monday after being arraigned on charges of abuse of care of a dependent person and recklessly endangering another person.
The Westtown-East Goshen regional police department said at 8:03 p.m. Sunday they responded to a call in the 1600 block of Margo Lane.

When they arrived, police said, they found a mentally handicapped male in the middle of the street.
After returning the male to his residence, officers began to search for the caretaker.

Upon further investigation, they observed a male passed out in the front seat of a vehicle in the driveway and began to actively try to wake the individual up.
Once awake, the suspect was uncertain of where he was and officers could detect a strong odor of alcohol.
Subsequently, Sarnor was taken into police custody.
