Community Art Group Celebrates Malvern's 125th Anniversary
The project will create and hang landscapes of King Street through time in the borough hall.
A community arts organization has joined efforts with the Malvern Historical Society and a local artist to create a series of paintings honoring the borough’s past 125 years.
The first painting by Randall Graham has been hung at the Malvern Borough Hall, showing a snowy landscape of King Street in 1889. A second, much larger canvas featuring 2014 Malvern is currently in progress, according to the Malvern Community Arts Project Facebook page.
Sketchwork and planning for the project began last year as part of the borough’s celebration of its 125th anniversary. The project is fully funded through community donations made to the Malvern Community Arts Project, a volunteer-run organization dedicated to bringing fine art to the borough.
