Video: Construction Equipment Crunches Debris at East King Street Redevelopment Site
A quick clip of the demolition work for anyone who might find it interesting.
There's something about watching a piece of construction equipment chomp down on debris that can be captivating.
I was checking on the East King Street work Thursday, seeing if they'd begun knocking down the few remaining warehouses, when I shot the video above. As best I can tell, it's a John Deere 350D Hydraulic Excavator crunching up material from recent demolition to make it safer and easier to clear away.
The aggressive "bite" at 0:50 (fifty seconds) is my favorite part. Reminds me of the T-Rex attacking the Jeep tire in Jurassic Park.

I realize this might not appeal to everyone, but perhaps a few folks out there share my interest in heavy machinery... and dinosaurs. (I've even asked PennDOT to let me know if a "Zipper truck" comes through Malvern, so I can take photos.) If you know of any cool heavy equipment set to operate in the area, feel free to let me know.
Update: Apparently I'm not alone. A reader shot a video of another giant machine chomping on East King Street buildings and also thought of a dinosaur.
