The Great Valley High School and Middle School Parent Teacher Organizations are hosting a debate where our community will have an opportunity to pose questions to our school board candidates.
Debate/Meet the Candidates
When: Monday, October 24th
Where: Great Valley High School Auditorium [Location has been changed from cafeteria -- ed.]
Time: 7:00–9:30 PM
We have six vacant positions on the Board, one from each Region. The Great Valley School Board Elections will be held on Tuesday, November 8th. The education of our students is an important issue and when you are voting in November, please choose the candidate that you feel will best represent your issues as these decisions affect our district, the community, and your taxes.
We will structure our debate as follows:
- Moderator, timekeeper and question solicitors
- Candidates seated at a table in front of audience.
- Provide each candidate with an opportunity for opening comments (3 minutes) to highlight their platform and the issues of importance to them in this election.
- Three separate debates by Regions providing a time allocation to answer any specific questions that may be region-specific and pose questions to candidates that will be on that region’s ballot.
- Invite all candidates back into full debate session to address questions that arrived in advance of the meeting as well as taking questions from the floor the night of the debate to be answered sequentially.
Parents, in advance of the meeting, we are asking you to e-mail your questions to schinski@comcast.net and should you have a question that is region specific, please note that region on your question so we can organize them in advance of the debate.
