Great Valley School Board Appoints New Principal
Dr. Nicole Forrest is named principal of Sugartown Elementary School.

GREAT VALLEY, PA —The Great Valley school board this week appointed Dr. Nicole Forrest as principal of Sugartown Elementary School.
Forrest will replace the current principal, Dr. Kyle Hammond, who will begin his transition in August to be the principal of the district’s new 5/6 Center.
Forrest said she is driven to ensure that every child reaches their full potential in a caring, safe learning environment focused on each individual’s needs.

“I look forward to building a collaborative environment with staff, parents, and the entire Sugartown community where we can work together to create a sense of belonging for our students so they can thrive,” Forrest said, “I am honored to have the opportunity to work alongside the Sugartown staff and know we will continue to build upon Sugartown’s successes.”
Experience
Forrest served as an assistant high school principal in the West Chester Area School District, a role she’s held since 2016.

She led the professional growth of teachers, creating an Innovative Teaching Team focused on the purposeful incorporation of technology and best instructional practices.
She also organized a student mentoring program that teamed high school students with freshmen and elementary students to build student leadership opportunities.
Prior to her administrative experience, Forrest was a teacher of English, most recently at Great Valley High School.
Education
Forrest earned her doctorate in leadership and innovation at Arizona State University.
She has two master’s degrees: educational leadership, from Saint Joseph’s University; and English literature, from the University of Delaware.
She earned an undergraduate degree in English literature at West Chester University.
Forrest also has certifications in K-12 Principal Administrative II, K-12 Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction, and Instructional II Secondary 7-12 English.
She is the recipient of two leadership and innovation research awards and is an experienced conference presenter and professional development facilitator.
