Applications to Fill Vacant School Board Seat Due Thursday

The Great Valley School Board has an opening for a candidate to fulfill the term of Bruce Chambers, who last week. Anyone interested in being considered for the position should email the district business director, Chuck Linderman, at clinderman@gvsd.org.

A special school board meeting to consider the candidates is scheduled for June 26. The term expires in December 2013.

The School Board of the Great Valley School District is soliciting applications of interested persons to fill an anticipated vacancy on the Great Valley School Board arising from the resignation of Board Member Bruce Chambers, who represents Region 1.

To be eligible for appointment, any applicant must have resided for at least a year in Region 1, which consists of Charlestown Township and East Whiteland Township Precincts 1, 2, 3 and 4, and must be at least 18 years of age, a citizen of Pennsylvania and be of good moral character.

To be considered for appointment, a letter of interest and a resume must be received by 3:00 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2012. Please email your letter and resume to School Board Secretary Chuck Linderman at clinderman@gvsd.org.
