Great Valley SD Offering Tax Rebate For Seniors Who Volunteer
Residents 60 and older can get up to $650 off their Great Valley School District property tax bill by volunteering at the district.
MALVERN, PA — Senior citizens who live within the borders of the Great Valley School District can get a rebate on their school property tax by volunteering.
The district recently announced the rebate program, which is open to residents 60 and older.
According to the district, the program's purpose is to provide senior citizens with property tax relief through rebate.

Seniors who volunteer with the district can get up to $650 in rebates towards the property tax bill. For every hour of service provided in our schools, $10 of credit will be set aside towards a rebate on tax bills.
Volunteer opportunities include help in the library, work with children who need individual attention, assist with health screenings, work with the building and grounds crew, and volunteer in the office. Learn more about volunteer opportunities online here.

"We will make every attempt to match your interests and background with our needs so everyone is happy," the district said in its announcement. "If you are not pleased with your assignment we will gladly attempt to find another place for you where you feel more comfortable."
Those who wish to participate in the program should call 610-889-2125, extension 52126, to get an application packet. State law requires senior volunteers to have appropriate clearances. Additionally, participants in the Senior Citizens' Service Tax Rebate Program are required to complete a physical and tuberculosis test which they must pay for themselves.
