Malvern Borough Council Will Vote On Appointing Loomis Acting Borough Manager

Malvern Borough Council will vote on making the Interim Borough Manager the Acting Borough Manager, after Chris Bashore's departure.

MALVERN, PA — Tuesday night's meeting of the Malvern Borough Council will be in person, as the Council votes on a motion to appoint Tiffany Loomis as Acting Borough Manager and Secretary.

Loomis has served as Interim Borough Manager and Zoning Officer since the departure of Chris Bashore last month. The vote will make her Acting Borough Manager, in accordance with Section 504 of the Home Rule Charter, which requires Borough Council to designate an Acting Manager in the event of a vacancy in the office of Borough Manager.

The title of Acting Borough Manager should be assigned to the Interim Borough Manager position, the meeting agenda explains. The motion, if approved, with make the position changed effective Sept. 18.

Bashore was Malvern Borough Manager, listed with that title into September 2021 on his LinkedIn page, but he is shown as Asst. Township Manager for West Goshen Township on the Township's administration page.

Malvern Borough Council President Amy Finkbiner confirmed Bashore's resignation. "We're all sorry to see him go, but we're also happy for him. It's a great opportunity at a much larger municipality," she said.

The Oct. 5 meeting of Borough Council will permit in-person attendance. The meeting will be held at Malvern Borough Hall, 1 E. First Avenue, Suite 3, Malvern. Masks are required for all attending the meeting in person.

A virtual meeting option will continue to be available via Zoom, as well as a phone option. Information on joining the meeting virtually is included in the agenda.
