Riya Kinny was the grand prize winner in the Office of the Attorney General's Drug Free Calendar artwork contest.
Having a drawing grace the cover of a state-wide distributed calendar has turned one Malvern fifth grader into a bit of a celebrity, earning a visit from a local politician at her school last week.
Friday morning, State Representative Duane Milne (R-167th) presented a House Certificate of Recognition to Riya Kinny, a fifth grader at K.D. Markley Elementary School in the Great Valley School District.
A talented artist, Riya is the grand prize winner in the PA Office of Attorney General’s 18th annual Drug Free Calendar contest.

“Some of the best moments of serving as representative are opportunities to recognize our bright and promising young people,” Milne said. “I am most honored and delighted to recognize Riya Kinny for an achievement that shows both her ability as an artist and her thoughtfulness as a citizen.”
