Malvern Prep Seeks Memories of Outgoing President

Jim Stewart will step down after more than four decades at the school.

's president and head of school, Jim Stewart, will step down this year, after 42 years at the Catholic high school.

The organizers of an upcoming event celebrating his service are asking current and former students and staff to share their memories of the man via an online form:

In preparation for the Tribute to Jim Stewart scheduled for May 20, 2012, the event staff is creating a scrapbook and video that will capture your memorable memories about Jim Stewart. Malvern Prep's communications director, Frank Luzi, provided a bit of Stewart's history via email:

Jim first arrived on campus as a Spanish teacher in 1970.  He survived the near-closing of the school in the mid-70s, and became Assistant Headmaster in 1975.  He has led the school since 1990, first as Head of School  and then in the role of President, which he assumed in 2006.
