Malvern Trick-Or-Treaters To Pick Up Candy From Tables, Not Door

Guidelines for trick-or-treating in Malvern call for setting out candy on tables, staying on your own block, and in small groups.

MALVERN, PA —Malvern Borough's guidelines for Halloween safety ask residents to trick-or-treat in small groups without face-to-face candy hand-outs.

The traditional time for trick-or-treating in the borough has been from 6-8 p.m. and while Malvern Borough is not sponsoring an trick-or-treat event, it asks those who choose to head out to stick to the traditional times.

Suggestions for a safe Halloween in the COVID pandemic were posted Tuesday, and they ask those in Malvern who choose to go trick-or-treating to stay on their own block and observe social distancing.

The borough also suggests not having children come to your door for for treats. A table on the lawn or end of driveway with treat bags is a better option, the borough said. Wearing gloves when handling candy is also suggested.

The borough also reminded residents not participating in trick-or-treats to turn off their porch light during the events, so no one comes to their door unnecessarily.

Malvern's annual Halloween Parade has been cancelled, but the Parks and Recreation department has decorated the gazebo in Burke Park for the season.
