Blotter: Drunk at the Fair, Pepsi Thief

The following arrest information was supplied by the Malvern Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Burglary… On July 10, police arrested a 48-year-old man for burglary after he broke into the home of his ex-wife and took two cans of Pepsi from the refrigerator. The ex-wife's boyfriend, who also lives at the residence, returned to the home around 3:30 p.m. to find the man leaving. The alleged burglar told police he had come to the home looking for a game for his daughter. The soda was valued at $3.

Underage drinking… On July 10, around 9:30 p.m., two juveniles were charged with underage drinking. Officers patroling the Malvern Fire Company Fair spotted the boys, ages 15 and 17, at the back of the field near the woods. The boys appeared intoxicated, according to police, and the 15-year-old had wet himself and had vomit on his clothes. He was taken to Paoli Hospital.

DUI… On July 10, at 8:39 p.m., a patrol officer pulled over a vehicle on the 600 block of West King Street after observing the driver drifting repeatedly into the oncoming lane. The driver, a 39-year-old Malvern resident, claimed to have had one beer, but failed field sobriety tests and was charged with driving under the influence. He was taken to Paoli Hospital for blood tests.
