NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA — The 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square has sold out of its regular tickets already, but fans can still get in to watch world-class professional golf in a few ways.

According to Championship Director Ryan Ogle, more than 100,000 people registered online ahead of ticket sales to get access to the four-day championship May 14, 2026, through May 17, 2026.

All four days sold out, he told Patch.

"It's been a great response," he said. "To sellout all four days is a testament to the excitement of the championship.

For golf fans who still want to get in on the action, some ticketing options are still available.

Ogle said fans can get practice round tickets for $79 a person, and kids 15 and under get in with a ticket holding adult. Tickets are available for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday practice rounds.

The price tag includes food and nonalcoholic beverages, which extend to the kids who tag along.

Face value weekly ticket packages are also available. These include one ticket per day in the entire package. Ogle said due to the sell out of regular tickets, this remains one of the few options for fans to get access to the Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday rounds.

And, for those looking to have a more upscale experience at the championship, tickets are still available for the Daily PGA Hospitality Club. The club is a private hospitality venue that overlooks the eighth and 10th hole greens. It's climate controlled, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and features an open bar. The club also has TVs and video boards to keep up with standings.

Ogle said fans can also look to the PGA's official ticket partner SeatGeek for verified resale tickets. Due to SeatGeek being a secondary ticket market, Ogle said prices fluctuate based on various factors.

All tickets include food and nonalcoholic beverage. This food and beverage program started in 2022, and Ogle said it has been overwhelmingly positive and well-received by guests.

In addition to the free food and drink that come with admission, ticket holders can get their golf swing analyzed, check out partners such as Elijah Craig and Michelobe Ultra, and lounge in T-Mobile's Club Magenta.

And fans should act quickly, he said, as these remaining options could also sell out.

That's in large part due to the overwhelming local interest in golf.

According to Ogle, typically 60 percent of ticket holders are not from the region where the event is happening, while 40 percent are.

But for next year's championship, Ogle said the split is about 50/50, signifying the strong interest in golf among Philadelphia region, and Pennsylvania as a whole.

"I think that Philadelphia is really hungry for golf," he said. "It's a great sports market."

Golf's increasing popularity is due to a few things, he said.

One is the number of stars. Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Bryson DeChambeau are just a few top golfers who have captured the hearts of fans around the world. Fans can catch them at the 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink.

Another is the social media aspect of golf. The content creation industry is full of golf influences, some of which are among the world's best duffers.

And, superstar athletes who are not pro golfers have drawn attention to the sport. Steph Curry, Saquon Barkley, Josh Allen, and more pros have all shared their love of the game with their fans.

"More people are playing than ever," Ogle said.

The sport has seen tremendous growth since the COVID-19 pandemic, he said.

According to the National Golf Foundation, more than 138 million Americans play golf. That figure is up a whopping 45 percent since 2016, when the foundation began tracking player numbers.

And golf is more diverse than ever. Twenty-eight percent of golfers now are women, the highest count recorded to date. More than a quarter of junior golfers are people of color, as well. Just 6 percent were minority participants about 20 years ago.

Why the increase in golf's popularity? Ogle offered a few explanations.

"It's rejuvenating, meditative, you're out in nature in beautiful settings," he said. "It's a slower pace, you're with socializing with friends. It checks so many boxes."

As for the local impact, Ogle said the championship is expected to generate $125 million in revenue for the region.

That will be a result of fans' direct spending, hotel bookings, dining out, and much more. Ogle said the championship will attract about 200,000 spectators to the region, most of whom will be spending their money locally.

Ogle also said the championship will generate up to $10 million in tax revenue to municipalities, counties, and the state.

Another factor in the championship's local impact is the region being featured on a global scale, which Ogle said can exceed $100 million in media value.

"It's a global spotlight showing why it's great to live work and play in the region," he said.

Later this year, the PGA will launch its JobMatch program, opening up temporary employment to those who want to work the championship. Ogle said about 1,100 temporary jobs will be created to help make the championship run efficiently. These jobs include security, food service, and more.

"It's temporary work, but it can lead to long-term employment," Ogle said.

More information on JobMatch for the 2026 PGA Championship will be shared at a later date.

Volunteer opportunities are also available, but Ogle said the number of volunteer positions keeps shrinking due a high number of volunteer sign-ups. Learn more about volunteer opportunities online here.
