The “incredibly special” (This Week’s Trinity) Renaissance String Quartet was founded in 2021 by violinists Randall Goosby and Jeremiah Blacklow, violist Jameel Martin, and cellist-composer Daniel Hass, based on over a decade of friendship while studying at The Perlman Music Program and The Juilliard School. Its members view the string quartet as a vehicle to bring people and communities together to celebrate all lives and musical traditions. This concert is a perfect example, including quartets by Florence Price, Johannes Brahms, and Hass – with the Hass quartet receiving its Philadelphia premiere when the quartet first appeared on our Emerging Artists series. Don’t miss this group of talented musicians, who play with “energy combined with an almost nostalgic lyricism” (BroadwayWorld.com).

Guided, Historic Hike through the DelCo Woods!&nbsp;
Join us for a hike with the Friends of Marple Newtown Trails through the Delco Woods (the former Don Guanella property). The hike will be led by Sam Pickard (Marple Historical Society) and Ken Hemphill (led the effort to protect the woods from development). The hike will be about 3 miles and feature the history and natural beauty of the 200+ acre woods. We’ll meet at the parking lot on Reed Road.&nbsp; (Overflow parking across the street near the Home Depot.)&nbsp;&nbsp;
The hike will include some steep slopes and steppingstone stream crossings, so bring your boots and walking sticks! After the roughly 90 minute hike, the historic Massey House, at 469 Lawrence Road, will be open for us with refreshments and hot chocolate.
Bundle up and breathe some fresh air with a friendly group!&nbsp;

Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia (CSFP) changes lives by providing scholarship funding for Philadelphia families to choose a tuition-based school that meets their student’s educational needs. CSFP is the largest and most diverse provider of K-8th scholarship support in Pennsylvania, focusing on the highest-need students in the lowest-achieving schools in the city.
