Chocolate Easter Eggs, Bunnies Running Out Fast

Christopher Chocolates in Newtown Square is quickly running out of chocolate Easter eggs and bunnies.

Probably one of the busiest times of the year for a chocolate shop, it's no wonder that all the chocolate Easter eggs and bunnies are quickly running out at Christopher Chocolates in Newtown Square.

According to Christopher Lamparelli, a second-generation owner and baker at the chocolate shop, also the person who the shop was named after, said their homemade Easter eggs are all made by hand. For 27 years, the shop has offered their Easter eggs to the public expanding their flavors and increasing production.

Lamparelli said they have made at least 1,000 Easter eggs this season. They offer peanut butter, coconut cream (easily one of the most popular flavors), peanut butter and raspberry cream, and peanut butter and chocolate cream fudge.

They have also made approximately 1,000 chocolate bunnies this year, said Lamparelli. They offer 2-pound, 8-pound, hollow, solid, milk, dark, and sometimes white chocolate bunnies. However, their white chocolate pump broke and will not be able to produce any white chocolate bunnies, said Lamparelli.

Note: All of their hollow chocolate bunnies are nut-free and they offer a free personalization on Easter eggs.

Lamparelli said the best time to come in for Easter candy is the week right after St. Patrick's Day. For those who want to come in during the week leading up to Easter, he said to come in "as humanly fast as possible."
