Delco Hosting Jobseeker Events This Week

Two events planned in Chester and Media aim to help job seekers and employers connect to programs, training opportunities, and more.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Delaware County is preparing to host two in-person employment events this week to help job seekers and employers connect to programs, training opportunities, and more.

The Delaware County Workforce Development Board and PA CareerLink Thursday are hosting events from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Delaware County PA CareerLink offices in Chester City (701 Crosby Street, Suite B, Chester) and Media (Delaware County Community College Workforce Entry Center, 901 Media Line Road, Media)

Delaware County employers, PA CareerLink partners, and Workforce Development Program
providers will be set-up exhibit tables to enable interaction with job seekers/and potential program participants.

Job search activities, including resume reviews and mock interviews, will be offered at each exhibit table.

Actual job interviews may occur during the event, at the employer’s discretion.

Job seekers are encouraged to attend; registration is not required. Masks are required for all
attendees, and social distancing will be observed.

PA CareerLink and a collaborative network of community-based groups and workforce
development providers offer jobseekers resources they need to get back to work.

Experienced career development specialists at PA CareerLinks help jobseekers develop resumes, conduct online job searches, practice interviewing, and develop networking strategies. Free online workshops are also available.

For unemployed or underemployed jobseekers who want to change fields, tuition assistance is
available for job training in a variety of high-demand sectors including transportation, health care, and manufacturing.

The Delaware County Workforce Development Board also works with employers to help them find well-qualified candidates.

Free job postings—directed to job seekers, job fairs, and targeted recruitment services—are available to Delaware County employers.
