Dog Eating Fishing Line, Hook Causes Crash In Delaware County: State Police
Pennsylvania State Police said the driver was trying to stop his dog from eating the fishing line and hook, which caused him to crash.
CONCORD TOWNSHIP, PA — A crash on West Baltimore Pike in Delaware County last week was caused, in part, by a dog trying to eat a fishing line and hook, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
At about 7:15 a.m. on Sept. 11, a Honda CRV driven by Everett Wright, 65, of Glen Mills, crashed on southbound West Baltimore Pike in Concord Township.
State police said Wright was driving along the road when he veered off, rolling over and landing upright in an embankment on the right-hand side of the road.

Wright suffered minor injuries in the crash, police said.
Wright told troopers he was trying to stop his dog from eating a fishing line and hook that were in the backseat of his vehicle.

That's when he lost control and crashed the vehicle.
Authorities said the dog was also uninjured.
Wright was taken to Paoli Hospital for treatment and the Honda was towed away.
Authorities charged Wright with summary careless driving, according to police and court records.
