Heroin-Busted Man Sentenced Up To 40 Months in Prison

Timothy Barlow, 26, of Philadelphia, was sentenced up to 40 months behind bars with three years of probation for his involvement in a Heroin bust that occurred in Broomall last year.

MEDIA–A sentencing was held for the  that occurred in Broomall last October.

Timothy Barlow, of Philadelphia, was sentenced to a minimum of 20 months and a maximum of 40 months behind prison at SCI Chester–a correctional facility designed to treat inmates with substance abuse problems–for the Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver a Controlled Substance.

In addition, two years of probation was granted for Barlow's aggravated assault and another year of probation for Barlow's charges on Conspiracy - Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver a Controlled Substance. The other charges were dismissed by Brennan.

Barlow was originally arrested on 10 charges: Manufacture, Delivery or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver; Intentional Possession of a Controlled Substance By a Person Who is Not Registered; Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Conspiracy–Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver; Conspiracy–Intentional Possession of a Controlled Substanced By a Person Who is Not Registered; Aggravated Assault; Simple Assault; Recklessly Endangering Another Person; Resist Arrest/Other Law Enforcement; and Criminal Use of Communication Facility.

The sentencing was held at the Delaware County Courthouse on Jan. 18 before Court of Common Pleas Judge Mary Alice Brennan, which followed a formal arraignment in December of last year and a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Nicholas Lippincott in District Court #32-2-46 on Dec. 6.

On Oct. 19, 2012, Marple police officers conducted an undercover drug investigation involving Barlow in the Lewis Building at the Governor Sproul Apartments. An undercover officer made the transaction with Barlow at which time a uniformed officer made the arrest.

A fight ensued inside the apartment building and eventually continued outside, where Barlow attempted to flee from police in a waiting vehicle. In an attempt to stop the vehicle, an officer fired a gunshot at the vehicle's tire to slow the vehicle down. The vehicle was eventually stopped and Barlow's accomplice, Tinesha Barlow, 24, of Harleysville, was also arrested and charged for her involvement in the drug bust.

Bail was set for $150,000 with no cash option on Oct. 20, 2012. Barlow was unable to post bail and was confined in Delaware County Prison.
