There are lots of events happenings this weekend. It's a weekend full of community events. Take up line dancing, play bingo for designer bags and a good cause or check out Media's 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll.

Line Dancing

  • When: Thursday, Jan. 9 at 11 a.m.  
  • Where: 144 Lawrence Road, Broomall
  • Why Go: Hosted by Surrey Services for Seniors, and led by Dancing Don, this group of active older adults will learn to dance and have fun while doing it. Newcomers welcome.
  • Cost: $4
Open Door Shabbat
  • When: Friday, Jan. 10 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Where: Temple Sholom in Broomall, 55 Church Lane, Broomall
  • Why Go: Temple Sholom opens its doors to families who want to learn about Judaism. Experience the Jewish traditions, through the exploration of holidays, practices, faith and more.

2nd Saturday Arts Stroll

  • When: Saturday, Jan. 11
  • Where: Downtown Media
  • Why Go: The Reverend Chris will perform his blend of New Orleans rhythm and blues and jazz at 7 p.m. at Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union. The featured artist this month is Alexandria Pierce at Picasso’s Restaurant.
  • Cost: Free

Designer Bag Bingo

  • Where: Temple Lutheran Church, 501 Brookline Blvd, Havertown

Wine, Cheese and Honey Pairing
  • When: Jan. 11, 12, 18 and 19  
  • Where: Penns Woods Winery, 124 Beaver Valley Road, Chadds Ford
  • Why Go: Indulge in a sit down pairing of five premium Penns Woods wines, each paired with various cheeses and honey from local farms.

Moms and Mimosas
  • When: Saturday, Jan. 11 at 9 a.m. 
  • Where: Philadelphia Runner, 1601 Sansom Street, Philadelphia
  • Why Go: Stop by this information session to join the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Moms In Training (MIT) program for the upcoming summer season by becoming a team member for the Broad Street Run.
