Attempted Murder Charges Filed In Delco Road Rage Shooting: State Police
A man and his daughter were shot at by a Delaware man during an Oct. 1 road rage incident on I-476 in Marple Township, authorities said.
MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA — A Delaware Man was charged with attempted homicide and more crimes after Pennsylvania State Police said he fired a shot at during a road rage incident in Marple.
Devon Malique Jones, 40, of Wilmington, Delaware, was charged with two counts each of attempted murder, aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and related crimes in connection with an Oct. 1 incident, court documents show.
The incident happened at about 8:39 p.m. Oct. 1 at mile marker 4.7 on Interstate 476 in Marple Township, according to state police.

Police said the victim believed he was shot at by the driver of a silver Audi Q7 SUV with a Pennsylvania registration after a road rage dispute.
The victim and his daughter were uninjured in the incident, police said.

A projectile was later recovered from the back of the victim’s vehicle, and a fired cartridge casing was found on the shoulder of I-476 near where the victim reported the shooting.
Investigators identified the vehicle and its owner, later identified as Jones.
Jones was taken into custody Friday by state police troopers.
A firearm and ammunition matching that of the recovered fired cartridge casing were in his possession when he was apprehended.
Jones is being held on $1 million bail in Delaware County and is scheduled for a Nov. 13 preliminary hearing, according to court documents.
