New, All-Inclusive Playground Being Built In Marple
Officials said they hope to have the new playground open by November this year.
MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA — A new, all-inclusive playground is coming to Marple Township.
The township recently announced construction on the new facility will begin this month and said it is expected to be open in November this year.
"This new addition to our Parks Program will provide our community with a safe place where children of all abilities can play together and are developmentally appropriate for children with and without disabilities," officials said in the announcement.

To help construct the playground, the township got $425,000 in grants from Delco Greenways Grant Program, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and Greenways trails & Recreation Program. It also received donations from Broomall Rotary Club and Marple Township Parks and Recreation Fund.
While the new playground is under constriction, the township has to close the existing playground to allow contractors space to prepare the new site and begin construction.
