New Details Emerge In Broomall Man's Child Porn Case

Joshua Patrick Dunn, 36, of Broomall, is free on unsecured bail after being charged with 20 counts of child pornography and related crimes.

BROOMALL, PA — A Broomall man was recently charged with nearly two dozen counts of child pornography and related crimes. And on Tuesday, authorities in Delaware County released additional information on the case against 36-year-old Joshua Patrick Dunn.

The investigation that led to charges being filed began on July 31, 2024.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children got a report from messaging app Kik owner Medialab that day about child pornography being uploaded to the app.

County investigators later reviewed the file and confirmed it depicted a minor female engaged in a sex act.

Two more tips came in from Kik on April 15 and April 24 regarding files containing child sex abuse material being uploaded from the same IP address that was attached to the previously mentioned file, authorities said.

One of those files featured text that read "Normalize Teenager Addiction," "there is nothing wrong with preferring young girls," "who wouldn't enjoy a smooth bald fresh c***," "Your c*** cannot tell a lie," and "Help Goomers find their true love."

Investigators subpoenaed Verizon to obtain details on the IP address in question, which was assigned to someone living at a Cambridge Road address in Broomall.

Authorities also searched the address on PennDOT's database, and found Dunn lived at that same address.

That led investigators to execute a search warrant July 2 at the Cambridge Road address, where authorities found Dunn, another adult, and two small children.

The other adult provided their phone to forensic investigators, who said no illegal contact was found on the device.

A search of Dunn's phone, however, yielded different results.

Authorities said a live preview of one of Dunn's three cell phones showed that the Kik application was present on the phone, but not logged in to.

Dunn's iPhone 16 Pro Max was found to have multiple files in the hidden folder that required the passcode to access. One file found in the hidden folder was a 30-second video of nude two minor females in a shower together, authorities said.

Metadata from the file showed that it was downloaded from Kik, according to investigators.

Dunn was charged on July 5 with 29 counts of child pornography and 20 counts of criminal use of a communication facility.

He was released on $200,000 unsecured bail after being arraigned, documents show.

Dunn is scheduled for an Aug. 21 preliminary hearing.
