New Playground Open In Marple Township

After about a year of work, the new all-inclusive playground at Veterans Park in Marple Township is open for all kinds of fun.

MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA — A new playground in Marple Township is now open for fun.

The playground at Veterans Park that was under construction for the past year is officially open, township officials said.

According to the township, the new all-inclusive playground is completely fenced in, allowing park goers to monitor kids in one area.

While the playground is open for kids to enjoy, the township is not done with its development.

The second phase of the project will begin soon and includes adding 52 parking spots as well as adding a comfort station/restroom that will comply with ADA standards.

Funding from the park came partially from the Delco Green Ways program, which allocated $100,000 to the park's construction.

"Congratulations to our Board of Commissioners, Marple Township Parks and Recreation Board, and the Marple Township Rotary for their support towards the reality of this outstanding recreation facility," officials said in a statement.
