See How Much Marple, Newtown Spent On Booze In 2024

MARPLE-NEWTOWN, PA — Tipplers in the Marple and Newtown townships spent more than $15.4 million on alcohol in 2024, according to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board released its annual report recently.

And the report features sale figures for individual Fine Wine and Good Spirits stores across the state.

Three of those are located in Marple and Newtown townships.

The store in the Ellis Preserve Town Center at 3735 West Chester Pike in Newtown Square had the most sales with 162,628 in 2024, bringing the total sales to $7.87 million and putting at No. 92 in terms of statewide sales. The average sale there was $48.37.

In Broomall, the store in Lawrence Park was No. 173 of all stores across the state, with $5.53 million in sales from 156,597 transactions. The average transaction was $36.59.

Another store in Newtown Square, located at 4839 West Chester Pike, totaled $2.03 million from 55,590 transactions, with an average transaction of $36.59.

A wholesale store, located at 629 Parkway Drive in Broomall, sold $11.65 million worth of alcohol from 10,229 transactions.

Delaware County's stores had the sixth-highest sales of all Pennsylvania counties, with $101.7 million in 2024.
