Wawa Recommends Masks For Customers
Next time you go get a hoagie or a coffee, you might want to bring a mask after Wawa said it is recommending customers wear masks in store.
WAWA, PA — Wawa is looking to keep its staff and ideally its customers safe from the coronavirus by changing its in-store mask policies.
The convenience chain headquartered in Delaware County said it is now requiring its staff to wear masks. Additionally, Wawa is recommending customers wear masks when in its stores.
"Wawa is committed to keeping its associates, customers and communities safe," Wawa said in a statement.

The decision comes on the heels of the CDC's new mask guidelines, which recommends people — even those who are vaccinated — wear masks when indoors in areas with substantial spread of the coronavirus.
Twenty-five Pennsylvania counties are listed as having substantial spread and three have high spread, per the CDC.

"Given the latest CDC guidance on masks, we recommend everyone wear masks while shopping in our stores, regardless of vaccination status," Wawa said.
The CDC's new guidance stems from the coronavirus's Delta Variant and increasing cases due to the variant.
