Crozer Chester Medical Center, Taylor Hospital To Remain Open
The Foundation for Delaware County last week said a deal has been reached to keep the two embattled hospital open.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA β Two important medical facilities in Delaware County will remain open after harrowing times and threats of permanent closures.
Authorities Friday said funding has been secured to keep Crozer Chester Medical Center and Taylor Hospital open.
Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday said the foundation will be part of the developing plans for Crozerβs restructuring.

First, it will be under a receiver, FTI Consulting, and ultimately, a permanent non-profit owner.
"As for the efforts to solidify that permanent owner, we appreciate the good faith efforts of regional healthcare providers involved in ongoing discussions," Sunday said. "I am encouraged that the parties, today, remained focused on preserving accessible healthcare for the Delaware County community and maintaining the workforce that provides that essential care."

Parties that met Friday to work on the deal were representatives from the Office of Attorney General, Governorβs Office/Office of General Counsel, The Foundation for Delaware County, a Patient Care Ombudsman, FTI Consulting, Prospect Medical, Delaware County, and the Unsecured Creditors Committee.
"We look forward to updating the bankruptcy court β which has ultimate approval authority over plans for Crozer β at our next hearing," Sunday said. "There is much work to be done, but we will not stop fighting on behalf of Pennsylvanians."
