Embattled Delco Hospitals Staying Open For Now
Officials have been working behind the scenes for months to help identify a long-term solution that keeps these facilities open.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA β Crozer-Chester Medical Center and Taylor Hospital in Delaware County are staying open for now.
County officials Thursday said both healthcare facilities will remain open as negotiations to find a permanent solution continue.
Officials have been working behind the scenes for months, assembling a coalition of local, regional, and state partners to help identify a long-term solution that keeps these essential healthcare facilities operating and serving our residents.

As part of this effort, the county helped advance $1 million in state grant funds, not Delaware County property tax dollars, to support mental health services already provided by the hospitals, helping to stabilize operations in the short term while talks continue.
This remains an evolving situation, county officials said.

"Delaware County is fully committed to a thoughtful, calm, and orderly transition away from Prospect ownership that prioritizes community health and access to care," the county said in a statement.
