Ex Delco Park Police Officer Acquitted Of Child Rape Charges

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — A former Delaware County Park Police officer has been found not guilty of child rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, and indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old court records show.

William Thomas McGrath IV, 31, of Upper Darby, was charged with those crimes in October 2024. He was found not guilty Tuesday, according to documents.

He was accused of sexually abusing a child at a local daycare. The accuser is now an adult.

Dozens of other counts of those same charges were dismissed in court Tuesday.

Common Pleas Court Judge Margaret Amoroso said testimony in the case led to reasonable doubt and the subsequent acquittal, the Delaware County Daily Times reports.
