Woman Dead After Chase, Standoff, Gunfire In Delco
The incident led to a complete closure of Interstate 95 north and south in Delaware County Tuesday afternoon.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — A woman is dead following a chase and standoff with police in Delaware County Tuesday. Chester City Police said the incident started with a chase in Delaware and that one person is dead.
That person was only identified as a woman from Wilmington, Delaware who had an active warrant in Delaware. It's unclear what she was wanted for.
Police said she fled law enforcement when they attempted to take her into custody in Wilmington.

At about 11:50 a.m., Chester Police were called to assist an officer by the Chichester exit of Interstate 95 with shots fired.
At some point, the woman carjacked an SUV in Chichester, which crashed at 12th and Kerlin streets in Chester, according to Action News.

The scene at 12th and Kerlin included an overturned SUV and a maroon sedan that was riddled with bullet holes, Fox 29 reports.
The woman's body was removed from the maroon vehicle, according to NBC10.
Video posted on social media in the area included the sounds of gunfire. It's unclear who fired the shots.
Police said one gun was recovered at the scene.
Both northbound and southbound Interstate 95 in Delaware County were fully closed Tuesday afternoon between Exits 4 and 6, PennDOT said.
PennDOT's traffic cameras showed vehicles are at a standstill in the area.
