Nearly 2,000 Emergency Calls In Delco Reported During Storm

As of about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, just under 9,000 PECO customers in Delaware County are still without electricity.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA β€” The past 24 hours were a very busy time for emergency responders in Delaware County.

According to Delaware County Emergency Services, nearly 2,000 call for service came in to the 911 center after Tuesday's major storm hit the region.

First responders were the busiest at 9 p.m., taking more than 320 calls in that hour alone.

The Delaware County Daily Times reports 27 water rescues occurred in the county during the storm.

No deaths have been reported in connection with the storm.

As of 2:23 p.m. Wednesday, 8,979 PECO customers in the county do not have electricity due to 370 separate outages, according to PECO.
