MEDIA, PA — Popular home goods retailer IKEA is opening a new store in Delaware County next year, and the location aims to make the store more accessible to customers.

IKEA's new plan and order point with pick-up will open in The Promenade at Granite Run in Media in spring 2026. The new format aims to increase accessibility to IKEA's products, the company said.

This new location is different from the traditional large-format IKEA stores. It will give customers the opportunity to meet with the IKEA store team to plan and order home furnishing solutions that require a bit more help.

The new format aims to increase convenience and accessibility, but it will be without one of the chain's most beloved products. The food shoppers have come to know and love, such as the IKEA meatballs, will not be available. Fans will still need to make a trip to IKEA Conshohocken for the IKEA foods.

"No more trekking through that notorious I-476 'Blue Route' traffic—now you can enjoy IKEA and our inspiring home design with less hassle," George Holtkamp, Market Manager of IKEA U.S., said in a news release.
