Progress Pride Flag Raising Ceremony Set For Thursday At Delco Courthouse
The Progress Pride Flag will be raised Thursday afternoon outside the Delaware County Courthouse in Media to celebrate Pride Month.
MEDIA, PA β Delaware County will celebrate Pride Month by hosting a flag raising ceremony Thursday in Media.
The event will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday in front of the Delaware County Courthouse, 201 W. Front St. in Media.
A Progress Pride Flag will be raised in honor of Pride Month.

Pride Month, officials said, is dedicated to recognizing the need to achieve equal justice and equal opportunity for LGBTQIA+ Americans.
It commemorates the Stonewall Riots of June 1969, a pivotal event in the LGBTQIA+ rights movement.

"The Progress Pride flag is a symbol that our county respects, recognizes, and celebrates the lives of Delaware County residents and employees in the LGBTQIA+ community and is a reflection of the progress we have made as a nation to cultivate a more accepting and loving society," officials said in announcing the flag raising event.
The Progress Pride Flag will fly outside the Delaware County Courthouse and the Government Center through the month of June.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony.
