Prostitute Extorts $2K From Delco Man: State Police
The man clicked a link he thought was a dating site, but was actually connected with a prostitute who threatened and extorted him.
ASTON, PA β A Delaware County man was threatened and extorted after clicking a dating site link that actually was related to prostitution, Pennsylvania State Police said.
The victim, 27, was looking at pornography on his cell phone when he clicked on an ad or link that he believed was for a dating site.
Police said the side was actually meant to connect people with prostitutes.

The victim never actually contacted the prostitute for a date that was supposed to occur the next night, police said.
But the victim then got threatening text messages from an unknown person, police said.

The messages threatened him and his family with harm if he did not pay for wasting the prostitute's time, according to authorities.
This led the victim to pay the unknown person $2,000 over PayPal and Venmo.
However, the suspect demanded more money, but the victim could not pay, police said.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the incident.
