How do you plan to address residents' healthcare after the closing of Crozer's facilities?
Find out what's happening in Mediafor free with the latest updates from Patch.
The closure of Crozer’s facilities was a devastating blow to Delaware County. Access to healthcare remains one of my highest priorities. I am actively working with my colleagues on County Council to ensure that vital services are restored, particularly in the areas of primary care, maternal health, and emergency services. We are also exploring public-private partnerships, engaging with nonprofit healthcare providers, and pursuing state and federal funding opportunities to fill critical gaps. Additionally, I support expanding our health department’s community-based services and improving access to mental health care.
Do you plan to address potential federal activities, namely Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions, that may take place in Delaware County? If so, how?
Yes. I believe in protecting the dignity and rights of all residents, regardless of immigration status. While Delaware County must follow the law, we must also ensure that our communities feel safe, supported, and free from unnecessary fear. I do not support local law enforcement being used to carry out federal immigration enforcement and I will continue to advocate for policies that promote due process and transparency. I believe our county’s focus should remain on protecting public safety, not perpetuating political overreach.
Are the county's election systems safe and reliable? If not, what will be done to address the issue?
I believe Delaware County’s election systems are safe, secure, and reliable. Since transitioning to an independently run Bureau of Elections, we’ve made significant strides in transparency, staffing, and operational efficiency. That said, we will always remain vigilant and open to improvements. I support continued investment in cybersecurity, poll worker training, and voter education to ensure every resident can vote with confidence and ease.
How do you plan to tackle Delaware County's issues via bipartisanship amid growing political division?
I believe good governance starts with listening. Throughout my time on Council, I’ve worked across the aisle to pass legislation that puts people first, regardless of party affiliation. Infrastructure improvements, public safety, healthcare access, and economic development are not partisan issues. My approach is rooted in respect, transparency, and a shared commitment to service. I will continue building coalitions around common-sense solutions, focusing on the needs of our people not their politic party.
What direction do you see the newly formed Human Relations Commission taking?
I fully supported the creation of the Human Relations Commission and see it as a vital institution for protecting our most exploited and vulnerable residents. I vision the Commission evolving into a trusted community-centered body that addresses discriminatory practices and promotes fairness across housing, employment, education, and public services. To ensure its long-term sustainability, I will continue working with my colleagues on Council to explore alternative funding measures, so that the Commission is not solely dependent on taxpayer dollars.
