MEDIA, PA β The skies opened up on the Philadelphia region overnight Wednesday into Thursday, finally bringing a good amount of rain to the area after a long dry spell.
Storms rolled through the region, bringing rain, thunder, and lightning throughout the night.

Well, in the Media area, more than three-quarters of an inch of rain fell.
According to the National Weather Service, 0.76 inches of rain fell in Media. That total was reported by a member of the Citizen Weather Observer Program.

The most rain in Delaware County was recorded in Swarthmore, with 1.15 inches recorded there.
In the five-county region, the Stroud Water Research Center in Avondale, Chester County, had the most rain with 1.6 inches recorded.
