Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued In Delaware County

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued in Delaware County and other parts of the region as a major storm front rolls in late Friday morning.

The watch is in effect from until 6 p.m., the National Weather Service said.

It also covers Philadelphia, Chester, Bucks, and Montgomery counties, and parts of New Jersey.

According to the National Weather Service, a severe thunderstorm watch indicates that "severe thunderstorms are possible in and near the watch area. Stay informed and be ready to act if a severe thunderstorm warning is issued."

A severe thunderstorm warning, alternatively, indicates that residents should take action and seek shelter immediately.
