Actor Jon Seda to Appear at Nazareth Arts Center

Actor Jon Seda, who portrayed Marine John Basilone in 'The Pacific,' will discuss the experience of filming the 10-part mini-series during a reception on Thursday, May 31 at the Nazareth Center for the Arts.

Actor Jon Seda, who portrayed Marine John Basilone in "," will appear at the tomorrow -- Thursday, May 31 -- during a reception that will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Seda will discuss the experience of filming HBO's 10-part mini-series, which is a companion piece to the 2001 mini-series "Band of Brothers."

"The Pacific," which has won multiple Emmy Awards and was nominated for a Golden Globe, is based primarily on two memoirs of U.S. Marines: With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa by Eugene Sledge and Helmet for My Pillow by Robert Leckie.

According to www.imdb.com, the mini-series tells "the intertwined stories of three Marines during America's battle with the Japanese in the Pacific during World War II."

PUREntertainment has presented free screenings of "The Pacific" every Thursday -- two parts during each screening -- in May at the Nazareth Center for the Arts.

May 31 will be the final evening. Following the opening reception and the discussion with Seda, the final two parts of "The Pacific" will be screened.

There will be raffles. Items up for grabs include DVD sets of "The Pacific" and a trip to Cancun, Mexico.
