Fundraiser for Soccer Team Canceled

The Cross Country 5K Fun Run & 1 Mile Fitness Walk scheduled for Oct. 2 at Jacobsburg State Park has been canceled due to lack of participation.

The Grifos Girls 97 -- a Keystone Athletic soccer team that boasts six players from Nazareth -- organized the fundraiser to raise money for a championship tournament in Florida.

After taking second place in the USL Super Y league, the team was invited to take part in the National Championship in Tampa, Fla.

In order to attend the National Championship, which will be held in December, the team needs to raise money to help cover travel expenses.
