Letter to the Editor: Stamp Out Hunger

The Nazareth Area Food Bank thanks letter carriers for delivering more than 13,300 pounds of non-perishable food items on May 12.

Dear Editor:

The is pleased to extend our thanks to local members of the National Association of Letter Carriers, who delivered more than 13,300 pounds of non-perishable food items to our food bank on Saturday, May 12, as part of the national “” campaign.

Our gratitude also goes out to residents of the Nazareth area who donated the food to the letter carriers’ campaign.  And we deeply appreciate the efforts of members who weighed the food as it arrived, and members of the Youth Group from St. Brigid’s Episcopal Church who helped our volunteers wheel the food into our building.

Saturday’s food collection is another example of how generous the Nazareth community is in helping those in need, whether through efforts like the Letter Carriers, Boy Scouts or food drives throughout each year by schools, churches and other organizations.  Thank you!

Sincerely,
Jim Byrnes, Director
