A man was found dead in a cave in Lehigh County this week, authorities said.

LEHIGH COUNTY, PA — A man was found dead in a cave in Lehigh County this week, authorities said.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, officers received information on Monday that a deceased person may be located in the area of Slate Heritage Trail in Slatington Borough.
During the investigation, troopers and first responders discovered a deceased man in a cave along the Slate Heritage Trail.

According to a report by WFMZ, officials used a drone submarine to locate the 41-year-old man, who had been inside for at least a week.
Officials with the State Police confirmed "there is no threat to the community related to this incident."

The identity of the man was not immediately released by State Police.
The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
