National Night Out to be Celebrated in Hanover Township

Colonial Regional Police will mark National Night Out with K9 demonstrations, child identification and fingerprinting, and a whole lot more.

Set for tomorrow, Aug. 2, between 6 and 9pm, some 37 million Americans will take part in the 28th Annual National Night Out.

And, once again, will be making sure its community joins those 37 million Americans in taking a stand against crime and continuing the fight for stronger neighborhoods.

National Night Out is specifically designed to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and to send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back, according to nationalnightout.org.

According to Colonial Regional, another purpose of the event "is to get neighbors to become more familiar with one another," which, in turn, makes people more aware of suspicious individuals and circumstances.
