Pen Argyl to Hold 77th Annual Labor Day Parade Today
Pen Argyl's 77th annual Labor Day parade -- marching off at 1 p.m. today -- will feature local marching bands and cheerleaders, a variety of floats, and a lot of emergency rescue apparatus (sirens included).

Pen Argyl's 77th annual Labor Day parade will march off at 1 p.m. today. Sponsored by Lookout Fire Company #1, the parade will feature emergency rescue apparatus from across the Lehigh Valley.
If you've never attended Pen Argyl's Labor Day parade before, friendly tip: consider bringing noise-reduction headphones for tiny tots with sensitive ears.
The parade, which primarily marches down Route 512, will also feature the Green Knight Marching Band, Bangor Slater Marching Band and the Blue Eagles Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps.

Parade awards will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Weona Park. The grand prize -- totaling $2,500 -- will be announced at 8 p.m.

Admission is free. Parking is also free, and the lot is located behind Turkey Hill, 434 E. Main St., and Sweet Temptations, 492 E. Main St.
