PennDOT Announces Route 248 Project Details

During construction, there will be restrictions -- Monday through Friday -- between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.; the project is expected to take six months to complete.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced Friday that it plans to resurface sections of Route 248 between Route 33 and Route 22 in and Palmer townships and Wilson Borough.

Timm Tenges, the manager of Lower Nazareth, at a meeting on Feb. 22.

PennDOT crews will begin work on March 5, and the project is expected to be completed in September -- if the weather cooperates.

  • Base repair
  • Milling and paving
  • Guide rail work
  • Pipe and inlet installation
  • New pedestrian ramps
  • Miscellaneous construction

During construction, there will be restrictions -- Monday through Friday -- between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Work will begin on the western end of the project and proceed east. This will be a moving operation.
