Six Teens Allegedly Had Marijuana, Valium Near Carnival
Charges are pending test results from state police.

On the second night of The Great Nazareth Carnival, six juveniles were found in possession of what is believed to be marijuana and valium, a drug used to treat anxiety disorders, muscle spasms and alcohol-withdraw symptoms, according to police.
Police said:
At about 9:25 p.m. on June 16, two Nazareth officers approached a group of individuals who were at the amphitheater in , not far from where The Great Nazareth Carnival was taking place.

When they approached, the officers detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana.
The individuals -- later identified as the six juveniles who range in age from 15 to 17 -- told the officers they were just “hanging out.”

However, Officer Daniel Troxell found “two buds of a green vegetable matter” in a small, plastic container; a partially burned marijuana “roach,” or the end of a joint, and an opened pack of Game Cigarillos.
One of the teens handed Troxell a second partially burned “roach,” and after another search, the officer found a plastic, Ziploc bag that contained 15 pills -- about 750mg worth -- believed to be valium.
The teens were released to their parents after they were called to the park. Their names will not be released due to their ages.
Charges are pending test results from state police.
