Stockertown Residents Affected After Water Main Break

Repairs are expected to be completed by early evening on the break of an eight-inch water main on Sullivan Trail.

UPDATE, 7:15 p.m.: Water has been restored to all Stockertown area residents after water main break along Sullivan Trail, according to Pennsylvania American Water.

Original Post: About 200 Stockertown area residents may experience disruption in their water service this afternoon after a water main broke Thursday morning along Sullivan Trail, according to Pennsylvania American Water Co.

Repairs are are expected to be completed by early evening on the eight-inch water main.

Customers along Sullivan Trail between Batts Switch Road and Belfast Road in Plainfield Township may experience no water, low water pressure or cloudy water while the work is being completed, the company said in a press release.

After the fix is in place, adds the water company, customers may experience cloudy water for a short period of time. Customers are advised to run their faucets for a few minutes until the water runs clear.

A water tanker has been made available at the Kessler’s Locker Plant (Royal Gourmet Foods) at 6092 Sullivan Trail, Plainfield Township.

Pennsylvania American Water has asked that customers bring their own containers if they plan to visit the tanker for drinking water.
