Wanted Bushkill Township Man Found Hiding in Mother's Attic

Anthony Stehly Jr., 20, was wanted for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.

A Bushkill Township man wanted on domestic assault charges in Nazareth was found hiding in the crawl space of his mother's attic in the township when Nazareth police went to arrest him Wednesday. 

Anthony Stehly Jr., 20, of 289 E. Moorestown Road, was wanted for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, identified by police as Nicole Lucas.

Police say Lucas went to the Nazareth Borough Police Department at about 6:30 a.m. on March 2 alleging Stehly had assaulted her and caused damage to her vehicle.

After a verbal argument, records say, Stehly allegedly kicked and stomped on Lucas’ car, causing $700 worth of damage.

Stehly then choked Lucas and kicked her in the stomach, records say, and put his knee to her neck so that she was unable to breathe.

According to police, Stehly also allegedly threw Lucas down concrete steps.

Stehly, who has yet to be arraigned, will face charges of making terroristic threats, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, harassment and simple assault, police said.

Bushkill Township police assisted with the arrest.
